Mondrian Investment Partners sees growing opportunities in emerging market (EM) equities driven by several key factors. These include favourable demographics and the EM’s role in the AI supply chain and in the global green transition. Additionally, a weakening US dollar could bode well for EMs, and improved corporate governance within emerging markets enhances the case for long-term investment, as per Mondrian.
“While EMs enjoyed a strong start to the 21st century, the last 15 years have been challenging for EM returns, especially when compared to the MSCI World Index, and even more so versus the S&P 500,” the asset manager states, adding that the turning point for EM equities may be approaching.
