The traditional view of emerging markets (EM) credit is outdated, opines Ninety One, and investors should take a fresh look. The Anglo-South African asset manager highlights in a recent insight that EM companies now display robust fundamentals, often outperforming developed market peers.
“The EM credit opportunity set today compares very favourably across a variety of metrics; in many cases, macro and micro fundamentals in EM are superior to developed markets, such as the US,” wrote Portfolio Manager Alan Siow.
