Europe is navigating economic headwinds, but structural trends continue to create attractive investment opportunities. Canadian investment firm Brookfield identified three key themes stand out: decarbonization, digitalization, and deglobalization.
“As the European geopolitical landscape continues to shift, we expect megatrends such as the ‘Three Ds’—digitalization, decarbonization and deglobalization—to continue to generate opportunities to invest in long-term value and growth in the private markets,” the asset manager states in a recently published white paper.
And there migth be a fourth ‘D’ coming, defense. “The changing geopolitical conditions could present opportunities in critical industrial supply chains that private investment can support—though not without risk,” Brookfield adds.
